Today, Head of the Special Division for Non-Property Enforcement Proceedings of the Compulsory Enforcement Service, Major of Justice Vardan Melikbekyan was hosted in the YSU Faculty of Journalism.
Within the scope of the course “Mass Media ethics and legislation” V. Melikbekyan touched upon the peculiarities of enforcement actions carried out within the scope of visits with the child, the difficulties faced, and the importance of organising the work with the media properly.
According to him, the best interest of the child in this type of enforcement proceedings is the most important. “In the publications about children it is often simply retold about what happened, sometimes without taking into account the consequences, the psychological aspect that these children can become even more vulnerable in their own environment. Your objective, impartial coverage of the phenomenon is also necessary for public awareness of the most difficult issues”.
An interesting question-and-answer session around the topic took place between the students and the speaker.
