Congratulatory message of Chief Compulsory Enforcement Officer Sergey Meghryan on occasion of the 31st anniversary of Independence

Dear compatriots,

I congratulate you on the national holiday — the 31st anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia.

Taking an intricate path of historical realities, the realisation and collective expression of the will of the Armenian people to be dedicated, to have the spirit of victory and to live and create in their homeland gave birth to the independent Republic of Armenia.

Independence was not easily granted to the Armenian people. It was achieved at the price of the blood that the heroic sons shed. Even today, our people are leading a struggle for existence, for the sake of their independent statehood, as independence and sovereignty are a mode of life for the Armenians.

Alongside our soldiers who are standing on the border and fighting with self-dedication and heroically, every one of us — in his or her place and through his or her actions — has a responsibility before the current and future generations to maintain the independent statehood of our country. Today, the homeland is in need of our strong will, unity and determination.

Attaching importance to the symbolism of the pan-national day, I would like to pay my respects to the memory of our Armenian sons who sacrificed their lives for the eternity of the right of the Armenian people to live independently. Glory and honour to those who were devoted to independence and who became immortal for the sake of the Homeland.

Congratulating all of us on the national holiday once again, I wish long-lasting peace, empowerment and welfare.

Chief Compulsory Enforcement Officer
Sergey Meghryan
