Today, the Compulsory Enforcement Service is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Upon the decision of the Government, exactly 10 years ago, May 5 was officially proclaimed as the day of a compulsory enforcement officer.

At the jubilee event, the Minister of Justice, congratulating compulsory enforcement officers, noted that the work done is priceless. “People who are present today in this hall are with their everyday work the guarantors of our justice, the ones who fight every day for the establishment of the rule-of-law state, those who have invested their most important resources on this path. Even the most perfect judicial system will not serve its purpose of restoring violated rights and social justice where judicial acts remain unexecuted. I am hopeful that each of you realises his or her role in this matter. With every enforcement proceedings we conduct, we put a stone in establishing the rule-of-law state and prove that the Service on this path is a structure in the Republic of Armenia, which does not punish the citizen, but rather helps and restores violated rights.

Grigor Minasyan expressed gratitude to the former Chief Compulsory Enforcement Officers for their contribution. The Minister highly appreciated the indicators of the Service for 2022, emphasising that the activities performed justified and even exceeded the expectations.

“More than AMD 25 billion was levied in favour of claimants between August to December 2022, as enforcement expenses — about AMD 1.5 billion, these numbers exceed the indicators for the same period of 2021 by about 48%. Due to these and other positive indicators , upon the decision of the Government, this year again more than USD 1 million was allocated to the Service for this purpose.

Efforts will be ongoing; also, works have began to legally enshrine this mechanism. We have another happy amendment. We have more applicants than the last competitions announced for the vacant position of compulsory enforcement officer, which also indicates the re-interpretation of the perception of the Service and the position of the compulsory enforcement officer,” the Minister emphasised.
